Summer Holidays May Cause Delays in Italy and Spain May 23, 2011— Employers and expatriates should anticipate visa and work permit processing delays in Italy and Spain during the summer months due to government office holiday closures and staff reductions. Application backlogs that develop during this time could result in delays through early fall. Italian work permit applications submitted in June and July are expected to take an additional one to three months to process. Work permit applications in Spain could see similar delays. Because of the anticipated delays, employers and expatriates will need to plan adequate time to meet projected travel dates. |
