Non-EU Nationals Must Register in Czech Republic

January 17, 2012— Non-European Union workers are now required to register with Czech labor authorities by their first day of employment if they began work after January 1, 2012. The new requirement is part of sweeping labor law reforms that took effect on January 1. Previously, only EU nationals were required to register. The registration requirement could slightly delay the overall hiring process for companies employing non-EU foreign nationals. The registration process for EU nationals has generally not been burdensome. However, some Czech labor offices have not yet implemented the new registration process for non-EU nationals, so delays are possible.
