EU Law Requires New Renewals

November 14, 2011— The EU Law no. 80/2011 introduces 5-year validity period from issuance date for immigration certificates. EU citizens holding certificates issued before June 27, 2011, and showing no expiration date, are required to request renewal before their expiration.

Please note that foreigners whose certificates were issued in 2007 must visit their local immigration office in 2012 to change their certificates. Registration certificates issued before new law was enacted remain valid, but will require renewal once every 5 years from the issuance date, although initially were issued for unlimited period.
